S.1 Practice Squad (PS), PS Bidding & PS Compensation
a. Each team can have up to 6 players on the PS.
b. Only rookies that are either drafted in the rookie draft, rookies drafted in the UFAA, or rookies that are picked up via PRE-SEASON FCFS/BBW may be placed on the PS.
c. All rookies drafted in the first 4 rounds, will first go on the active roster where he must stay until a contract is given to him.
d. This is to ensure that everyone's roster is in compliance with the 125 contract limit.
e. All rookies drafted in rounds 5 & 6 may go directly to the PS without a contract immediately assigned. You MUST announce this intention in your House Keep within 1 week after the rookie draft concludes, so the commish can place said rookie on your PS for you. Failure to announce this intention prior to the 1 week deadline, will result in the rookie staying up in your active roster until all active players have a contract.
f. Rookies can be demoted to the PS at any time up until week 1 of the regular season as long as he has a contract that meets the contract requirements as stated in the constitution.
g. Once a PS player is called up he can never be demoted after week 1 has started.
h. PS players may be called up to the active roster starting 2 weeks after the conclusion of the UFAA & through the conclusion of week 13.
i. Contract years on the PS do not count against the 125 year cap.
j. Contract years are reduced by 1 year every season.
k. All GP penalties to waived PS players or contract year buyouts apply.
l. The deadline to call up a PS player is the tag deadline of each season. After that date TS players are eligbile to be bid on and there will be no PS call-ups until 2 weeks after the UFAA.
m. Offseason PS bidding starts the day after the tags deadline and ends 1 day before the rookie draft begins.
S.2 Taxi Squad Poaching
a. At any time allowed in accordance with the league calendar a team may poach a player from another team's Taxi Squad.
b. Owners will have the ability to void the bid and activate first-year players rather than receive compensation at a cost. Owners will NOT have the ability to void the bid and activate second-year players, they must take the compensation.
c. When a TS player is poached the player must be placed directly on the active roster of the bidding team.
d. Bids for poaching are on a first come, first serve basis.
e. Both 1st year and 2nd-year players can be poached, however, there are different compensation guidelines and rules for each, see S.4.
S.3 Procedure and Criteria for Taxi Squad Poaching
To poach a player the bid must be valid. The following demonstrates the criteria for a valid bid:
1. Poaching team must make a post in the "Practice Squad Bids" sub-forum.
2. The bid must state the player's name, the team that currently owns that player, the year, round and pick the player was drafted and the CORRECT compensation to be given.
3. The poaching team must, at the moment the bid is placed, possess the compensation to be given and have the cap room available to place the player on their active roster.
Note - Compensation may be altered, but the bid will NOT be reversed or voided once placed.
S.4 Compensation
"Upcoming Rookie Draft" - for the purposes of this section, Upcoming Rookie Draft means the very next rookie draft, whether that is 2 weeks or 300 days away.
Undrafted players added as FA require compensation equal to that of a 6th round rookie pick.
FIRST YEAR Compensation (i.e. Rookies):
1. A draft pick in the Upcoming Rookie Draft equal to the round where the player was drafted; AND
2. A draft pick at least one round higher then the player was drafted. The higher round pick can be from the Upcoming Rookie Draft or the draft after the Upcoming Rookie Draft.
*First round draft picks would require TWO first round draft picks with at least one in the Upcoming Rookie Draft.
Example: A bid is placed for Bryce Petty off a Taxi squad. Petty was drafted in the 4th round of last years rookie draft. The poaching team would be required to give a 4th round pick in the Upcoming Rookie Draft plus a 3rd round pick in either the Upcoming Rookie Draft or the rookie draft after the Upcoming Rookie Draft.
SECOND YEAR Compensation:
1. A draft pick in the Upcoming Rookie Draft equal to the round where the players was drafted.
S.5 Voiding Bids
a. If a bid is placed on a Taxi Squad rookie, the owner of said rookie can refuse the compensation and instead pay PD's to activate and retain the player on their active roster.
b. An owner has 48 Hours from the time-stamp on the bid post to demonstrate their intention to void the bid.
c. A team voiding a bid must have the cap space to place TS player on his active roster at the time he posts his intention to void the bid, otherwise bid will be deemed successful.
d. If no intention to void is posted within 48 hours or if the current owner posts that he will not void, then the bid will be deemed successful and compensation exchanged.
If a team voids the bid they will pay GP's according to the following Fee schedule:
50 GP - If the player was a 1st Round Draft Pick
35 GP - If the player was a 2nd Round Draft Pick
25 GP - If the player was a 3rd Round Draft Pick
20 GP - If the player was a 4th Round Draft Pick
15 GP - If the player was a 5th Round Draft Pick
10 GP - If the player was a 6th Round Draft Pick
5 GP - If the player was a 7th Round Draft Pick
GP's spent voiding Taxi Squad bids are distributed as follows:
80% to the Treasure Chest
20% to the team who placed the Taxi Squad bid.
S.6 Treasure Chest:
a. All GP's that are spent via PS bids will get recycled within the Throne Dynasty realm in the following manner before the following season:
- 40% goes to the team with the most points against (regular season weeks 1-13)
- 30% goes to the team with the most points in a loss (regular season weeks 1-13)
- 30% goes to the team with the highest efficiency rating (regular season weeks 1-13)
